This summer is one of the hottest on record which in turn is making running an even more challenge than usual. I have been racking my brain to figure out strategies to make running in the heat more bearable. What strategies do you use to get through a run? I use counting to get me up hills. While most of the time, I try to keep my mind on other thoughts during running the heat is challenging me more than ever. Right now, I am in the hills portion of my training which includes running more hills, working on nutrition, and increasing mileage. As I climb the hills, I count my steps by groups of 10. This helps me focus on getting up the hill and not on the actual process of running. You may not choose to count but what can you do to help you get through you run?
