I noticed lately that I get ready to go for a run and I think “let’s get this done”! I realized this in my last few long runs and even my shorter runs. Running has become a chore rather than enjoyable. So, this past week I reset my mindset. I start my run by thinking about how lucky I am to be able to go for a run. Seriously, I am able to run with no pain and I am healthy. Next, I think about the beautiful scenery. I look around at the blooming trees and green grass. I listen to the sounds like birds chirping and dogs barking at me. I also started varying my routes and adding roads I don’t normally run. It’s changed my whole perspective to reset my mind. I need to use this time for me, but most of all be thankful I am able to get out and enjoy life by running.
