Propel with Purpose-2021

I have stepped up on many rungs throughout my life, not knowing if they would hold me or not. Before taking my next step up the ladder of life, thoughts have raced through my mind like, ‘this board may be broken, have a nail, or may not even support me.’ Yes, some boards did. I have experienced brokenness and pain. Tears and sorrow have gripped my heart and the sting of the experience have left me paralyzed at times. Despite my odds, I realized that the risk of pain is to live. If I am living, I have purpose, because all living things have a reason for which they were made.

The sense of purpose involves both movement and emotions. Purpose is the vertical movement that drives my step and the emotions that grinds my teeth to continue on through adversity. Purpose penetrates my soul upward when I make mistakes. Purpose builds character within; which realigns and strengthens my grip.

According to Romans 9, God calls people not on the basis of their good or bad works, but according to His divine purpose. He initiates purpose when He creates, then gives the strength to see it into completion. God is a God of purpose. He does nothing without knowing the why behind it. He specializes in calling nobodies and making them somebodies; the unloved and making them beloved.

I knew at a very young age what my custom-made purpose was. I would line up all my dolls and play school. I enjoyed using a chalk board and putting stickers on graded papers. My cousins came reluctantly to my playhouse as I attempted to create a club. I called it, “God’s Club.”

I became passionate about fitness and nutrition in college as I saw the benefits it played on my mental, physical, and spiritual health. I love working together with others to reach fitness goals. I also like being a part of a team of any kind. Collaborating with others for a common goal is much more enjoyable than working by myself.

I enjoy helping and caring for my childhood and adulthood best friend, who is quadriplegic. I love lending a hand, big or small, to those around me in need.

In 2021, let us propel together in our climb to fulfill our God given purpose!
