Rest or Go?

For almost every zip code, this past weekend we adjusted our clocks so we will get more daylight. Along with this tradition, comes the long week of being tired as we adjust to dark mornings. How does this relate to running? Well, as I wake up groggy every morning this week I reflected upon my running. When was the last time I took a break? Does my body need a break? Of course, we each know our own capabilities, but do we know when to rest? I haven’t taken a week off of running for over a year which became very evident during this week as I felt exhausted. Knowing this,I made a very conscious decision to take the entire week off from running which will benefit me inext months of running. I am resting not only my mind but my body this week. Running has many advantages but without rest, there is a risk of fatigue, injuries, or just plain burnout. So, I ask you when was the last time you took a rest?
