As the weather changes and days get shorter, it’s a great time to think about running gear. Fall is one of the best times to get out and run. It’s cooler, the landscape is beautiful and most of all it’s all about you! Also, consider the vitamin D factor, you will undoubtedly soak in some of those sunny rays running outside this fall and even winter. However, it’s often to determine what to wear. Remember the temperature rules, if you are running always add 10 degrees for your body to be warm. I usually go for pants under 45 degrees and layer my shirts (short sleeves, then long sleeves). The most common rule is that if you are warm before you start, you’ll be too hot running. Also, it’s time to get the lights out when running at dusk or dawn. Lights are for your safety as well as cars. Finally, eventually, you’ll need gloves and a hat but generally only below 40 degrees. Of course, all of these changes are based on your personal preferences. Enjoy the fall and winter running, these days are often peaceful and quiet outside.
