Running is a Social Event!

So, after 2 weeks have you begun to think about WHY you run? Have you considered that maybe you run for companionship? One of my favorite reasons to run is for social reasons. If you have never run in a group, this is a must! When you head out with friends and family, the miles have a way of melting away. During the run, you learn about each other, you share stories, laugh, conquer the tough run and most of all the time passes quickly! I run with my husband and dog so consider a four-legged friend for this activity as well. My dog has run many times with me and offers encouragement in a very different way but always willing to offer the enthusiasm I need just to get out and run! The bond you share with your fellow runners is strong as you are all in the same experience for a relatively short period of time. Finding a running partner changes the motivation to run and helps us relate to one another with a common connection. Next time you put on those running shoes, grab a friend and use it as a time to catch up!
