Running Routines

It’s back to school time, which means the kids in this country will be returning to a routine in school. Routines give us a better quality of life by providing a structured system that allows for exercise, family time, relaxation which leads to lead to less anxiety and stress management. Have you considered how to set up your exercise routine? As a runner, I run 4 days a week. This works for me, but other runners hit the roads 6 days a week. The amount you run depends on your fitness goals but also your energy levels, stress levels, and your race goals. If you are just starting out running, consider just adding in a mile or two a week until your body adjusts to the exercise then you can add in another day of running. On the other hand, if you run 30 miles a week consider set which days you will run and don’t change them. Having a routine helps take out a lack of motivation and thinking about the run, it becomes just what you do. I rarely miss a run because I always plan my schedule around it. Have you considered setting up a routine if not try it for a few weeks? You are worth it!
